Blue assessor basslet with swissguard basslet

So Im considering setting up a 65-80 gallon cube to house thinks like sponges, gorgs, feather duster, exotic little shrimp and fish that would normally be either A. eaten B. lost or C. beaten to a pulp in my main tank. I was wondering if it would be safe house a blue assessor basslet (Assessor macneilli) and a swissguard basslet (Liopropoma rubre) together, seeing as they have completely different color schemes and fairly different body shapes. I've had both with no issues. Actually had a swalesi and yellow assessor in the same tank.

I don't think you will have a problem at all. I actually have the above combo in my 205 right now, 1 swalesi basslett with 8 gold assesor basslets and have no issues at all.

We kept the assesors (2) with the swiss guard in a 45 cube with no problem.

Totally different fish. You should have no issues with keeping these together, even if you had several of each.

black cap and candy okay together?

We keep our candy isolated in his own tank with one other burrowing goby. I just don't want to risk it. The black caps can be a bit more aggressive, I would say with a gold, blue or randals assesor you would be better off.

Black Caps get much larger than the Assesors. The Black Cap is a much more aggressive fish.

However, Black caps like to find a small area to call their own. I have a friend who has a pair of Black caps for almost 10 years. And the 2 fish are always in the exact same spot when they are out, and they shoot into the same cave/rock opening the rest of the time.

The assesors, like rock walls, and large rock openings so they can cling along the walls, usually inverted.

So the Black Cap and Assesors would be in two different areas of the tank.

My experience with the Candy and Swalesi basslet, is they just like to stay back out of sight in medium sized cave. Where the Black Cap will come out to feed or look around the Candy and Swalesi don't usually venture out of the darkness much.

Sorry its an old thread...but I am wondering the same thing...I have a 90 gallon with a Tanaka Pygmy Wrasse, bi-color chromis. Pink skunk clownfish, scissortail dartfish, blue assessor and tomini tang...would this Swissguard basslet I'm thinking of buying cause any issues and are they reef safe?
