hope you don't like you fish. just a word of caution:eek1:

What you mean Joe? I have researched these and it seems for the most part people have had much success with clowns hosting in these without them being eaten.

Dirty little fish eaters!

It's not the hosting clowns you need to worry about, just any other fish.

I have lost 2 Queen Angels, Blue Angel, Powder Blue Tang, and Blennie to a blue Carpet that I had in a 90. Lets just say the carpet was well nourished. Also the Carpet was in the tank for a year before some of the fish ended up not being found.

ya when i was in the hobby about 4 years ago i lost around 300 in fish because of one of these guys. my gf wanted the pink one but when i said our little guys may fall prey she said nay

The blue not for sale I went yesterday I have been looking for one for a while now.My buddy has one and yes it eats his fish as well

well i guess i'm late on the reply and everyone answered your question.

LOL, I think you have changed our minds... We went with teh RBTA and got scared becuase it was moving and I did not want or LE corals to get killed so we got rid of it. We thought the the carpet would move a lot less. I have no idea what we will get for the clowns, They just keep making sand beds in the tank to sleep in.

clowns over time are know to host with alot of stuff. lps, mushrooms, and even in christee's case her powerhead. just give them time. i do have a long tentacle in the tank and it is happy. my tailspot blenny even has a home underneath him in a hole. have you thought of putting him on his own island for a few weeks to get him setteled in then make sure you feed him or the clowns and him in that spot then move the corals back? not a sure fire way but it sounds good;)

Look for one of these. They are hardy and take clowns well. They are a great altenative to nems and are better for the ocean. They don't move either.

What is that? Leather?

Sarcophyton in the pick. This is a type of leather. Make sure you look for haddoni if you choose a carpet. They will eat more fish but are easier to keep. They are found in lagoons with sand and like to bury their foot. Look at the underside and the dots will be colorless. Any color dots indicates a gigantea (blue dots)or a mertensi(orange dots). These are very hard to keep and are found on the reeftop. It is hard to find a healthy mertensi or gigantea. Most of these die while being imported. If i had known this I would have never bought mine.
Best of luck
