Blue colored fish in 30g tank?

I have a smaller tank and would like some blue fish that are reef safe and peaceful/semi aggressive.

The obvious answer is chromis, but I've seen plenty of warnings about them being reduced to 1 and susceptible to parasites. So not those. Any other suggestions?

Would be reef safe and peaceful. A yellow tail damsel would be a nice splash of color too, but you might run into issues keeping one in a 30 gallon with other peaceful fish.

A blue assessor. I have no idea if they are still pricey like they were years and year ago.

I like the look of that! I have a firefish in the tank now, with a pink streaked wrasse and couple clowns planned. Will it work with them? (particularly with the firefish, since it's another dartfish)

Yellow tail damsel, last

As in add to the tank last? Before or after a pair of clowns (since they can get territorial)?

Yup, last fish. The clowns shouldn't bully it too much...since they're all damsels, they read each others signals pretty well...At worst they'll keep the YT in check. I added a YT Damsel and Sixline together at the same time, last. Already have established clowns in my tank. Everyone has been getting along well...so far ;) Oh, and get a small Damsel so it will grow up being the runt so to speak.

Also agree with the Springeri Damsel, if you'd don't plan on getting a wrasse...since they'll eat flatworms as well.

I think you should be fine since the Firefish is (Nemateleotris magnifier) and the Blue Gudgeon is (Ptereleotris heteroptera). You usually run into problems when you mixing ones from the same family.

I vote for the Blue Gudgeon Goby as well. Very peaceful. And like Sk8r said, JUMPERS!!! If you don't have a screen top on yet, get one first. You need one with the firefish anyway.

I vote for the Starcki Damsel. To me one of the prettiest damsels and they're on the mild side as far as aggression goes. I'm pretty sure they're only available at certain times of the year and recently they've been popping up.

If I didn't have my Cherub Angel I'd get the Starcki for my tank. Both are a beautiful blue but being that my CA is an Ahole Terrorist, I need to put off the Starcki until the CA is no longer of this world :D

If you look real hard you'll see he blue assessor in the center coming out from the large cave, that was his house. The pink streaked wrasse in my BC14, pictures usually don't do them justice, a really beautiful elegant fish. I did read your other post where you mentioned a pink streaked wrasse right? They would look so awesome together, the wrasse cruises through the rocks and are very active.
