I received a blue eyed lithophyllon last week, and it has adapted nicely to the tank. Beautiful when it puffs up after the lights are off during tank feeding.
However - it came with 2 "scratches" that were growing algae, each about 1/4" long. What is the best way to help the coral heal and remove the algae? I've tried to be gentle with some tweezers but cant really make that work. Any ideas / experiences with this? Overall the coral is doing great but if I can help it heal that will go a long way towards the longevity of this piece. Any comments / advice would be welcomed.
You can just make out the scratches in the upper right in this pic...
