Blue Eye Litho came injured

I received a blue eyed lithophyllon last week, and it has adapted nicely to the tank. Beautiful when it puffs up after the lights are off during tank feeding.

However - it came with 2 "scratches" that were growing algae, each about 1/4" long. What is the best way to help the coral heal and remove the algae? I've tried to be gentle with some tweezers but cant really make that work. Any ideas / experiences with this? Overall the coral is doing great but if I can help it heal that will go a long way towards the longevity of this piece. Any comments / advice would be welcomed.

You can just make out the scratches in the upper right in this pic...

Nice Litho. I just got one that looks almost the same as yours.(Thanks Tony)

I can't see the algae, but one thing I do is put Astrea snails right on the coral, to try to clean them, when a brush won't work.

The size of it would make it difficult possibly, but you could always clean it up then glaze a lil superglue over it to "seal" it so it grow over it. Sometimes that makes it take even longer though. Best way is just make sure your perams are dialed in and stable at least for a few weeks so it can do it on it's own. Great show piece btw.
