Blue Gigantea Anemone losing color

Ive had my Blue Gigantea Anemone for about 6 months now and it seems to be doing great, except for the fact that it went from a sky blue color to a brownish blue color. It has never gotten to the dark blue color I was hoping for it to get. I have upgraded my lighting in the past week to help. I was running single ended 250w MHs with no reflectors and they were heating up my tank to 83-84 deg. Now I changed to 250w double ended HQI MHs with reflectors and the temp has stayed at a constant 79 deg. Im hoping that the new lights will bring the color back into the anemone.

Also, the anemone has never gone toward the light. It usually hangs out in a shaded area. I have always thought that this is wierd.

Before and after pictures are under different bulbs.

Ive been trying to feed more regularly to see if it darkens up. Ill keep it up and see what happens. any other suggestions? What foods do most people use. Ive been using small silver sides but ive heard bad things about them.

Try feeding a cube of marine cuisine once or twice a week with a turkey baster. You can get this food at petsmart. This is what I've been feeding my anemones for quite some time. I have just started feeding my anemones a tsp of chopped up raw fresh sardines. If raw sardines are available to you, it might be a good choice. Since it is human grade food, you don't have to worry about it being bad fish ( like silversides). If sardines aren't available, marine cuisine is a safe food to feed anemones.
If you aren't familiar with Marine Cuisine, click on link to see what it looks like.
