Picked this up a couple of weeks ago. It likes to be by the glass so can't get the best picture yet.

So the mouth of the anemone has been looking like this for the last couple of days.

Any reason for concern? It is not opening at all. The anemone spread out in the pictures as I took the pictures first thing in the morning. It isn't this spread out during the day. Also, the color is deeper than this normally but there are barely any lights on.

Mouth is looking a little bit over. Have you ever treated an anemone with antibiotics before? You may have to try that out if it doesn't improve in health.

That mouth looks fine to me. You just need to concentrate on provide good condition for him and feed him some.

Do not feed them food that have been in the tank a few hours. The number of bacterial in the tank is large, after a few hours the bacterial count on the a piece of fish is incredible. In fact I would consider these food spoiled if they are not eaten in 1/2 hr. I have fed leftover clams to my Magnifica and kill him. Thinking about it afterward, I know this was the cause of my anemone's death. Hind sight is 20/20.

Thank you for the information.

I unthaw seafood and feed it piece by piece to my eels. As soon as they are done, I give any leftovers to my anemones. The food doesn't sit in the tank ever.
