Blue Hippo Tang discolored ???

I have had a blue tang for about a year now. When I got him, he was about the size of a quarter. He is now about 4 inches long. As he's got bigger, his coloration has become inconsistant (looks kind of splotchy). Is this normal as they get bigger? Or, could it be some sort of disease? He is eating well (nori and frozen) and acts fine. Any help is appreciated.

What foods are you feeding him exactly? A good varied diet will help with coloration.

I know this happens as they get older...read OLD
but at only a year....my guess is food issues

I feed nori every day along with mixed frozen foods. Mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, plankton.

Maybe try some formula 2 flakes also in the diet. Soaking the food in garlic xtreme or selcon I think also gives them protein. I think selcon is more for that.
