Hey everyone I have a female blue jaw trigger she's been with me for around 5 months. Everything was good until recently she stopped eating, is always hiding, and seems uninterested in anything I do to try to get him to eat or even swim. He's always in his cave now. Its been around 4 days since he ate. Water paramaters are as follows:
Nitrite:0
Nitrate:0
Ph:8.1
Salinity: 1.025
Temperature: 79 F
Calcium 420.

I have no idea what it is going on with him? Can anyone give me some insight on what might be havening.. I fear that she might wither away in next couple days

What have you been feeding her?

Vitamins C and B12 are good appetite stimulants, and have worked well for us.

I been feeding her mysis shrimp, clams, formula 2 flakes, NLS flakes and add garlic . I have not added new fish . Her tankmates are a golden wrasse, pinstriped wrasse, a clarkii clown, one spot foxface and a flame angel. I see the foxface try to hit her with her tail when the trigger goes into her territory ..

Prazipro is a great med, and it generally is harmless to everything else with the exception of worms (tube and the like) Be careful though as it will cause a lot more frothing in your skimmer!

The instructions do call for a large water change after treatment. While appetite suppression is always a possibility, it probably won't happen to your existing fish that haven't been stressed by transport and are already eating well.

I think that a large WC BEFORE treatment is in the instructions. I was never really sure why. A WC after use would make sense, if just to get rid of dead worms and the ammonia they cause.

EDIT: My PP bottle says do a WC before using PP. In any case, a WC after using any med is a good idea, IMO.

Wow I don't know if prazi is that fast but I put It in yesterday morning and today she started eating!!! :).
She still doesn't seem herself she would come out an grab a few flakes then go back to her cave , then again she would come out . She at least ate some food today which makes me very happy. I hope she recovers quickly. I did t do a water change before but I will after 5-7 day .. Thanks everyone

I think it does work that fast. I had a dogface puffer that would not eat until I treated the tank with prazipro. Within minutes he was eating food.
