I am starting a 65 gallon reef tank, and i was wondering if i could add a blue jaw trigger fish to it or will they destroy my corals. If i can add one then will they eat inverts or small fish... what do i need to know about them . I'm getting a lot of different opinions. And is there any other type of trigger i could put in a reef.

I wouldn't add one to a 65 gallon reef either.
I made the mistake of adding one to a 4 ft, 72 gallon bow a few years back and it wasn't large enough IMO.

As for being "reef safe".. they're not known for eating your corals, but sometimes they're risky around shrimp and other invertebrates. Really depends on the fish itself.

k and will they kill crabs and snails or inverts in general, cause ill have star fish, shrimp(s), all kinds of crabs and snails and all types of corals, ill also have small fish sooo.....

Depends on the demeanor of the Blue Jaw Trigger You get, It's just hard to give a definite answer.

I would put one in a reef, but the tank would have to be much bigger than that.

I wouldn't put it in a 65g even if not a reef.

I would say that a 100 should be the smallest you could keep a blue Jaw in! You will still not be able to keep him at full size, but it would be fine for a while.

I have a Blue Jaw in my 90g. I am looking to rehouse him because I believe the 90g may be too small for him. He is good in a reef but NOT good in a 65g.

I hope nobody would ever buy a fish based on the results of a thread-poll. Do some research, these fish can reach 9" or so.

I have a pair and my friends have one.... Great peaceful fish. None of ours have ever Bothered any corals or inverts.
