Blue Leather Coral

To the OP, the pic I posted was under MH lighting. This was under actinics (you can tell because everything in the pic is blue, not just the coral, as opposed to the other pic I posted where you can clearly see the rock doesn't look blue), and I didn't post it because the point is to see the color under real lighting, not blue lighting.

Once most leathers inflate and put their polyps out, they don't show as much of their color as they do when they're more deflated (just like the slightly greenish leathers I have that don't look green when inflated, and the pink cabbage leather I have that doesn't look as pink when it's fully expanded). This is the blue one more fully inflated.

If you look around on the internet, you can see a few others that are just like mine, so while not common, they do exist. I can't speak on the toadstools, never had one myself of any color.

Pineapple Trees can be blue/blueish green with the right lighting conditions. In my experience however, they tend to turn more pink. They say with high light they stay blue, I haven't had any luck. Nice leather regardless.

*This is from LA, where I got mine from*

Mine also has no actinic bulbs what so ever. All I have is a cheap metal halide 250 watt 14k plus rite bulb.

Well J or SushiGirl, if either of you are ever considering fragging your beautiful leathers, please let me know.

Oh mine's long gone, that was back in '02 and a tank crash while I was out of the country for 6 weeks killed everything.
