Acros & Wrasses
Introduced a Leopard Toby Puffer a couple weeks ago and shortly after saw the clam mostly closed, so I separated the two. I had it in a plastic container inside of the tank and it doesn't have holes so I clean it out manually, well Wednesday night the puffer jumped into the tank when I was cleaning it and I decided to let it go so I could hopefully see the nipping actually happen before I got rid of it. I did eventually see it nip Friday when I got home from work and separated them again. Last night when I got home I saw my hermit crabs on top of it, I knew this was a terrible sign and the rest is history. I didn't think a little nipping could do this? The puffer is really small and the clam is over 5 1/2"? I didn't see noticeable bite marks on the mantle but I did see the puffer nip so I guess they had to be there. I knew getting the puffer was a risk, but I was willing to take the gamble. An unfortunate learning experience, but that's what it is...

Old photo of it... RIP :(
