Ya you are right we totally hijacked that thread.

Hey appreciate your help I use a pinpoint salinity monitor which I calibrate frequently. I get a reading of 50.3 which is about 1.024. I have a really great tank lots of sps and some of the really nice hariy mushrooms in fact they reproduce so often I am constantly trying to give them away. These damn blue mushrooms are now just a mission. They will survive WHOOHAAA

Wouldn't a salinity of 50.3 give a specific gravity of 1.038?

No 50.3 is 33.0 ppm 0r 1.024
