Blue mushrooms eaten

I bought a blue mushroom rock from my lfs.....3 weeks later I made a not so very smart decision to go to another lfs and purchase two "peppermint shrimp".... Within 2-3 both mushrooms were gone.

My question now is, will and/or can they grow back? Here is a picture of one ((if you can even see where it was)). There were two decent size mushrooms on the rock...I say decent, but about 1-1 1/2 inches in size.

If they didn't leave any flesh behind then no, they won't grow back. Are you sure the peppermint shrimp ate the mushrooms though? Sometimes when a mushroom is not to fond of it's location it will detach on it's own in hopes of finding a better spot in the tank. You might want to get a small power head and use this to try and flush the mushrooms out if this is the case.. GL.

The LFS probably sold you Camel shrimp instead of Peppermints. I agree with cloak, if there are pieces of the mushrooms left behind they will regrow, if none then no chance of them regrowing.

Have you returned the shrimp to the LFS? If not you have no chance of any growth as it will all be eaten,

I flushed them! Hah! I was so mad! I know they ate them because they were always around that rock. There are still two tiny pieces. I know you can't tell too much from my picture but there's still a little bit.

Wow, could have just brought them back to the LFS. Saddens me how people feel life is so disposable.

I have never seen or heard of peppermint shrimp eating healthy mushrooms. However if the mushrooms were dying then they would eat the remains. I think you blamed the peppermint shrimp for something they didn't deserve.

It was a shrimp. People eat them on a daily. Maybe at your lfs they would have accepted them back, not at this one.

Sorry but my coral is more important and more expensive. Do as you please in your own.

There are many times where a Camel Shrimp is sold for a peppermint shrimp. This is why they are said to do some strange things.
