I am very confused which color to get for my background

Blue VS black

Both have their pros and cons but i am still lost on which one i should get

the tank is going to be reef with a sand bottom

Also should i spray paint the outside of the back or inside??

Thanks

Definately the outside of the tank. I personally like blue, I think its bright, flashy and makes it look like...water!

Definitly dont spray the inside. Spray the putside of the tank. I have got a fowlr that has a blue back and a reef that has a black back, and i like the blue alot better. It keeps the tank alot brighter.

I would go with black, it makes the colors of the corals stand out much more. Blue will put more emphasis on the background than the actual tank. JMO.

ditto

id go black. like already said it makes the corals colors stick out more.i use to use blue then i tried black and its alot better looking

i originally went blue on my 40g and then before i ever stocked it i switched to black. more natural looking. of course, if u are going to paint it use krylon fusion and make up ur mind so u dont gotta do it twice like me! lol

Its all personal preference really....if you are talking like a midnight blue then you could do that or just go with black....wouldnt be too much difference...

I like dark blue.
If you want to try different colors try using construction paper from a art store. Just tape it to the outside of your tank. If you don't like the effect change to another color.

Yes, definatly black. Look at this pic of my 5.2g XXL

Look at how much deeper the tank looks. And it SURELY will make your corals and fish stand out WAY more! And Scott, just post your new questions in your first thread rather than making new ones.

Try truck bed liner if your going for black- when it’s applied heavy it doesn't scratch nearly as easy as spray paint and it's only marginally more expensive.
