i have a rock full of blue shrooms which are not expanding. what gives?

i ahve a 29 long with a seaclone 100 skimmer. i run phosgaurd through a aquaclear hang on filter with no mechanical filtration. my lights are 4 24 inch vho (2 50/50, 1 white actinic, 1 blue actinic). i have a moon light at night. photo period is 10 hours, with moonlight on for 4 hours. live sand bed 1-1/2 inch thick, 60 pounds of carribean rock. 2 fish (clown and watchman g). the shrooms are were on the bottom where they began to look "sick". i moved them to about 8-10 inches from surface. nitrates/nitrites 0-.2 (i feed 1 time every 10 days). phosperous barely noticable on scale.

the shrooms are now like buttons on the rock the size of a shirt button. they use to swell to the size of a computer mouse. any hints?

replace the phosguard with carbon or run carbon along with the phosguard.
have the mushrooms been under your lights for awile before they started looking bad?
i have 1 metalic blue mushroom that refuses to be happy under my 80 watt pc. all my other mushrroms love it and look good.
phosguard i think releases something into the water as it takes up phosphate. i know leather corals dont like this method of phosphate removal.

funny you should mention that about leathers. mine since i bought it does not look that great. however, my toad stool looks great. how should i run phospherous remover?

should i add iodine suppliment?

to answer question: they lloked bad starting about 3 weeks after i got them which was about 9 months. they have been under the new lights for only 2 weeks. i may try putting them in shade!
