blue sided fairy with pylei pair

I'm attempting to add a blue sided fairy to a 300g with a pair of pylei via an acclimation box. The male pylei doesn't show much interest any more, but the female still hangs out next to the box most of the day. Lunges every once in a while, but not often.

Am I looking for the female to ignore the new wrasse completely before deciding whether I'm going to add it or not, or just looking for the aggressive lunging to subside? Thanks

Just enough so that the new wrasse wont be relentlessly chased. There will always be some displays and lunges toestablish the heirarchy, but should be fine.

My other male chased that male into a rock and it had popeye the next day, so must have scratched it. It's been like that for a while now. I'll keep the wrasse where it is for now. Thanks

So long as one of the existing wrasses isn't in relentless non-stop attack mode at newcomers in the box, you're simply waiting for a few days. It's the former case which should prevent you from adding them at all.

Thanks guys. Haven't seen much more lunging after the first day, only occasionally. I'll give it another day or two just to be safe.
