Blue sponge coral

Hey everyone,

Just recently picked up a beautiful blue sponge coral. I've been reading up on the care of them. Wondering what the best placement is and do I glue them to the live rock? Also any other tips would be appreciated!

Thanks :)

As in the thread link below, I assume you have a blue sponge? Sponges and corals are quite different things. Saying blue sponge coral is kind of like saying blue car airplane... kind of. LOL!

I've had very little luck with sponges so no advise from me. But here is a link to a thread that is almost exactly what you have asked. I hope it helps.

I actually just did, found about 4 started off a piece of LR I bought not long ago, can't wait to see how well they grow.
I have a purple plate sponge as well, one of my favorites.
My tank is sponge worthy!

You may have to dose plankton or phyto more often since most sponges aren't photosynthetic also depending on the composition of the sponge it may need silica in trace amounts but this will lead to diatoms sponges are tricky to keep good luck

Only sponge I've had long term in my tank was a spongebob tank decor in my brackish tank
