blue spot and yellow watchman

Hi :) I first want to thank you for your article on the JawFish. As these are one of my fav fish, I found this particularly useful. Just a quick question for you. Any compatibility issues with a blue spotted jawfish and a yellow watchman goby? They would be in a 55 gallon with a 6" sandbed and a maroon and gold clown. Thanks

Wendy

I had a blue spot and a yellow watchman, they were fine together so far but hadn't been together very long. Then... my blue spot jumped!!!! I knew they could jump but the only opening was in front of one of my powerheads. About 3/4 inch by one inch. I am very sad about it.... I wish I would have been able to find him before it was too late. So... cover up EVERY SINGLE OPENING ALL THE WAY, don't even leave a tiny hole because the fish might find it. The opening on the top of my tank was on the opposite side the jawfish was living on. Don't learn by experience like I have been!! :(

i am aware of none. they should be fine together.

your maroon clown may kill the goby and jawfish. maroons are nasty.

Thanks for the reply. Just to give you an update: my blue spot arrived on sat and has proceeded to build some kind of mansion..heheh. So far he's got 3 entrances and he pops his head out every few minutes. The maroon has paid no attention to him whatsoever. Also if I may ask you a couple more questions:
when I feed he pops his head out and looks really interested but doesn't go after the food. He doesn't really have any competition from the maroon because he feeds from much higher up, and as I mentioned so far the maroon has paid no attention to the blue spot whatso ever. Until he gets a bit more brave, should I do something to make sure he's getting enough food?? Also, as your article mentioned I have lots of building material in the tank for him but it's spread through out the front of the tank. Should I put some closer to his home or will he go out and retrieve what he wants? Thanks again for your help.

you can try direct feeding with a turkey baster.

you can move it closer, but generally they will venture out and retrieve what is needed.
