I ordered a Blue Spot Jawfish from Divers Den about 2 months ago and unfortunately lost him a couple of days ago. I'm pretty devastated as he was my favorite fish- both beautiful and entertaining.
I would like to attempt a blue spot again, but I had a couple of questions about them that I'm hoping you can answer.
First of all, do you know how they are caught? I've read that some die after a short period in captivity due to methods used to capture them including pouring bleach into their burrows to drive them out.
(I'm assuming from everything I've read about your company that you wouldn't support divers using collection practices like that, but I am interested in how they are collected.)
Secondly, are they ever found/sold in pairs? I've read that they will be hostile towards other blue spots in the same tank, but I was wondering if a male/female pair would have the same issue or if they are always solitary.
Thank you for your help as always.
