Blue Squamosa

Vili,

I don't think that's his, just a sample pic.

I'm looking forward to seeing his clam though, that sure would be something if he was lucky enough to just "pick one up at the local pet store".

No, the one in the linked picture is not mine, but mine does look pretty similar.

I went into the store today, and the guy I usually deal with said they had a blue squamosa. I couldn't believe it. They bought it from a hobbyist who grew it from 2" to it's current size (about 5"). Apparently, he didn't realize what he had.

I had seen the pic I linked to a while back, and thought I'd love to get one of those. I didn't expect I ever would, though.

I am going to be going on vacation pretty soon, and decided to put it in my buddy's tank to make sure it's safe while I'm gone. I went to take a picture, and found out my camera batteries were dead  Here's a shot he just emailed me.

I'll have to go over to his house and see if I can take a better one.

Wow!

I'll trade you two sticks of gum and some aiptasia for it.

That's a beauty.:eek1:

Can you try and take a top down picture for us?

Doug,
This how I picked my Blue Squamie,it was just there and nobody thought it something special including me.
Only when it grew up, I realized what I have.

Tom,
About your body, this is how I lost my Blue Squamie.
It died in my buddy's tank when I was abroad and he wasnot at home for the weekend.

Anyway, if ya want I'll trade ya color TD's, Acros , Blasstos, Acanths, for this one.

I have been saying 5", but looking at it again, it's more like 6 or 7".

Here are some pics I took this evening. They are taken under my buddy's 6500K Iwasaki. Man it will look sweet under my Aqua Connect 14Ks!

Finally, here is my sad attempt at a top down shot.

That pic does not look like a blue squammy. It looks like a squammy with blue spots. I seen a blue squammy and that does not look like one.

well, that's more true than taking it under a 20K. if the iwasaki turns blue into green, then why is the max next to it so blue?

Wow! That clam is just awesome :)
I have been looking for a blue squamosa for a long time, hopefully one day I will get lucky :)
