Blue stripe Clownfish?

Over the years there has been a lot of discussion about how fragile this clownfish is with getting brook or other diseases and proper QTing of them. At one point I remember you guys as saying you were thinking of QTing these fish in your coral grow out systems for a few weeks in order to possibly help their survival rate. Have you guys started doing this or do you take any special preventative steps with these fish due to their nature of getting brook or other diseases that almost always kill these poor clownfish?

David,

Thank you for your concern regarding clownfish care. In our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility our Divers Den Clownfish are housed in a separate quarantine system. We understand the Clowns are susceptible to Brookynella Disease and therefore we monitor them closely for at least a thirty-day period.

We medicate all Clowns in Formalin and Copper as well as dose with medicated foods to rid them of any possible internal concerns. Once the fish have passed through quarantine, they are acclimated into a separate holding system, then photographed and offered for sale on the site.

If we can be of any additional assistance, please feel free to contact our LiveAquaria Department at 1-800-334-3699 or via email at customerservice@liveaquaria.com and we will be happy to answer any question(s) you may have.

Have a great day!

So if they are not in the divers den does that mean that they do not go through
"e medicate all Clowns in Formalin and Copper as well as dose with medicated foods to rid them of any possible internal concerns"

So the blue stripe clownfish are strait off the plane so to speak?

LD-Industries,

Thank you for your response. Animals from our California facility are subject to quarantine procedures which may vary from those used at our Rhinelander facility. They are only medicated on an as-needed basis. These aquatic specimens are also kept in quarantine, usually for about 2-3 weeks, and are not shipped unless they are healthy and eating well.
