No, I don't think so. I don't think you can sex that species very well unless the male is carrying eggs. You may be able to discern a flattened area on the ventral surface where the eggs go. The good thing is, that species is very docile, even in mixed sex groupings of several or more. I'd love to have a group of 6 or so someday. I have one that I've had well over a year. It eats like a pig. Very vigorous.
