Blue tang and prazipro?

I've had a 2-3" blue hippo tang for more than a year now and I noticed she somehow got cloudy eyes. Even though I haven't added anything for a while now. So I'm thinking it's flukes and I dosed it in my reef because I have before without problems, but I noticed last night after the dose that my blue tang was breathing really fast. Today I woke up and she is still breathing hard hiding in a rock. She did come out to eat but she went back in, any thoughts or advice?

Most likely it's not the reaction to medication. Its mostly to do with the disease. That's a typical behavior of any fish that have some disease, will get shy and hide.

Could it be because of flukes? And how long does flukes take to go away with prazipro?

Most likely due to flukes.
Prazipro dosed in Dt with many variable hard to say how long. But in qt we run prazi for 1 week then water change then run another week.
I would say do water change 25% every week and re dose prazi till symptoms go away.
Though there is a rush of using it in you main tank.
Not sure of the consequences later.

When should I expect the heavy breathing to calm down?

it all depends on the disease itself. If its even curable with prazi.
If it is curable then not until the disease has subsided or eliminated.
Hippos are very finicky fish when it comes to disease.

Praziquantel will deplete the O2 in the water and that can also cause the heavy breathing. Aerate the water a much as possible to help with the O2 in the water
