blue tang getting ich

hey i recently maybe 2 1/2 weeks got a blue tang all was well eats very good noticed it is starting to get ich spots my water is still the same frequent water changes my questions why is it getting sick
also what do i do
remove him or try to treat in tank
3 other fish and some mushrooms maybe 60 lbs live rock

I put a blue tang in my tank without qt 5 weeks ago. The first couple days he had a few white spots of ick on him. I started feeding him and my clown very heavy, not a single spot since. Just keep up with water changes feed really good and relax.

If he is eating leave him alone removing him and treating him can add to the fish's stress level and make it worse.

i agree, try using seachem focus to bind metrodiaznal(sp) and kana plex with his food. this will take cars of it.

I had a new blue tang last month and had the same issue, ick showed up after a few days. I started using Garlic Guard and Selcon additive on the food and after another 10 days or so, the ice disappeared. No signs of it on any other fish and another month has passed, ick free.
