Blue Tang?

I have a 50g reef with a 20g sump and refugium and i was currently wondering if I could get a blue tang with my excisting fish. I have 2 clowns, 1 6-line wrasse, 1 scopas tang and 1 fridiman dottyback. I know that this is alot of fish but since i have a refugium i always have 0 everything. I was looking at a small species to start off with, about 10cm. what do you guys think??

You already have a scopas in there. I wouldn't do it. Even if you didn't have another tang in there I still wouldn't. Hippos tangs (I'm assuming thats what you meant by blue tang) get huge and would not be happy in a 50 gallon for very long.

I personally wouldn't put a tang in a tank that was less than 6' long due to their excessive need for open space to swim.

i agree with elephen. that's why i'm doing a 180g. however, i think that things like the scopas and yellow tangs would do better because they are smaller. but still, nothing shorter than 4ft for them

Mr. Oliver...heed advice given..50g is tiny for two tangs...regardless of the fact your scopias wouldn't allow another in the tank.

starting small is no excuse, tangs grow very fast.... Sounds like you have a nice mix at this point. stop adding and enjoy.
