Two to three weeks after added a pair to DT tank. I found the male dead after 10 days or so vacation. The female is now in the DT for 3 months now. My question is can I add a male without any problem?

I paired a male and female in qt and added them to dt. They were together about 6 months in dt and the male jumped and died. I added another male, and although they haven't bonded as tightly as the original pair. They do get along fine and will occasionally hang together.
