Blue tubs growth

Does it grow much slower than other zoa? does it need more light than other zoa?

all my other zoa got growth, but there is no even one new poly from my blue tubs for almost 3 month. what's wrong of my tank?

the poly is streching a little big, I will take a picture to show it. but all the other zoas are good even at the lower level in the tank.

Is it the reason , blue tub is a rare coral???? lol

true tubs blues with lineage to tubs are fairly uncommon.......

sweet blue zoas that look just like them are very common actually.

They grow as fast as any other zoa IME. If they are stretching out it sounds as though they need more light

I've got "true tubs". They don't grow for me either. I've tried high light and low light after six months, I've got the same three polyps. They look great though All other zoas do great and multiply, not sure what's up. I might try to get some other type of blue zoa and pass these on to someone else.

I have true tubs as well as "fake" tubs blues. lol

They look the same and both grow just fine.

How you tell if yoru "fake" blues are really a similar polyp to the true tubs is put it in some higher light. If it keeps it bright blue........its the same or very similar. the skirt can olighten but the blue will remain brilliant

I've got true tubs and grow pretty good. 3-5 polyps a month roughly. Its lineaged. I fragged them too many times but still looks like the original piece I got it a while back.

I don't understand is the tubs are under 70MH about 4-5 inches with 10 hours lighting (not under the center of the lighting tho), all the other zoas are fine even lower level.

70 is ok for 8-12 gallons. But I'd do a 150watt for a 30gallon.
I'll be doing 300+ on my 37gallon cube next. 250watt MH and 4 24watt T5s.

ye, I know my lighting is not stronge enough to keep the zoa at the bottom, so all my zoas are placed at the half top of tank. I am still learning to stablize my water, so lighting will be the next one to upgrade.

Are you going to keep sps for your 37?

You don't mention what kind of flow you have. You may want to move it to a higher flow area.

Good evenly distributed flow is good. Not strong bashing type flow.

hmm...... the flow over there is kinds of stronge, my frogspawn was not fully open at that spot, then I move blue zoa there... that is the corner where the strong water flow makes the turn
