I tried my hand at this species awhile back and I was unsuccessful. Part of the reason is the retailer it came from, the retailer is questionable and has been debated on here several times about whether they are good or not. When mine came it it appeared to be fat and was supposedly eating mysis shrimp and spirulina flake. In my attempts to feed, it ignored any food I offered (oyster and clam on the half shell, mysis, brine, etc.). About a month after purchase it got an eye infection of some sort which I treated it for (took about two weeks) and it still wasn't eating offered foods. It eventually past away after three months in my care without ever eating foods that I offered, and very little picking at the rocks (at least when I was watching). I think this fish would have been easier to care for provided proper care was taken when the retailer got it.
