Bluecarpet...just got one

Moved On
I just picked up a Bluecarpet Anemone from a friend of mine. His screen name is Bluecarpet. If you can remember it was in his 12 gallon nano but since it has outgrowed that I took it and put it in my 55. The kind of lighting I have is in my extra information. I will be getting pics up and running soon enough.

lol...I know.

But in all seriousness its in my 55 gallon with proper lighting and at least a tank size than can support this guy.

However...as I was drip acclimating him, it started to regurgitate its food. I don't think this is something serious. Any move is going to stress out an anemone. It just happened to be that he got fed that day. Other than that all looks fine so far. Here are some pix.

I wouldn't worry about regurgitating during acclimation. Looks like a very healthy specimen. I guess bluecarpet was doing something right.

Good luck.

Not long at all for it to plant it's foot. Looks good and take extra good care of him and feed him well.

I am glad to hear that. Well wont be long until i get my 55 up and running, so spend your time wisely with him and make him nice and big for me. ttyl.

Not really.

I have a really large blue carpet anemone. He took roughly 10-14 days to actually plant his foot, he wandered quite a bit in our 120g...but he had a powerhead accident in my other tank just prior so was a slight bit stressed. It's roughly 12"across and quite nice...eats well and hosts 2 black saddlebacks and 1 HUGE brown saddleback. I think they are beautiful anemones! Good luck.

My Blue carpet never wandered, I dug a nice depression in the sand where I wanted him next to a rock, and it planted its foot within a few days and has never moved in over 6 months
Nice anemone good luck with it :)

My Bluecarpet hasn't wandered yet. He gets good light and plenty of flow and he has lots of room.

He is starting to plant its foot on the substrate. Part of the foot is actuall on the glass and you can see some of it in the sandbed. Pretty cool. My bluecarpet has also opened.
