First FTS vid ---

The SailFin is shilling in a sea Urchin shell. Thats where he was hiding at the LFS so i got it with the purchase -- He has a few different hiding places already...

Chris

Stock lights -- the thing is growing so fast!! Am I feeding too much?? ( Every other day a small piece of shrimp - haven't even gone through a whole shrimp yet... He also gets some mysis when I feed the clowns)

He has locked into one spot again -- hopefully he stays there or else he is getting evicted --- picking up some more lps this week... Exciited to add some more color...

Still searching for my upgarde Inwall --- so soon I will have plenty of room.

What does everyone dose for LPS -- hammer, frogspawn and such???

Wellllllllll the anemone got stuck in the intake today.. he is hurting but i think he will do alright (pics to follow)

I added a few different color hammer corals, a green touch coral, and a few frogspawn. (pics to follow)

i have been dosing Kent 2 part Nano reef and my test results are as follows:

pH - 82.-8.4
Temp - 78
Salinity: 1.025 (just bumped this up due to some reading - was 1.022)
dkH - 12
Calcium - 520
Nitrate <5.0
Nitrite - 0
Ammonia - 0.50
Phosphate - 0.25

thinking about switching over to Randy's 2 part now that i am adding more corals.

thoughts????

thanks

Chris

(promise pics are coming)

GREAT THREAD, im new to the site and also to reefing. picking up a 29 gallon bio tommorow. have been researching for 2-3 months now

Thanks - i will join over there and see if hes still got it.

i have some sad news... RIP Atlantic Anemone -- getting caught in the intake for the pump was too much to handle. He has a Porcelin burial this evening. May he rest in peace...

Any tips in getting frogspawn/touch/hammers to open up more... they are sucked in a bunch

Any ammonia is bad, strive for 0/0/0 on amonia, nitrite, nitrate in that order. Phosphates are also high, and Alk is in high range. Once you have a system for keeping everything in line your corals should react well.

Made the 50 percent water change... corals are put much more... except for the touch coral....that one may be a gonner...

My Zoa's were multiplying like crazy a few weeks ago, now i lost a whole colony of 6 and the bigger colony started shrinking down some too. Everythign else looks great and are getting bigger 2 frogspawns, 3 hammer's, 1 (now 2) red ric mushroom

Live Stock - 2 clowns, sailfin blenny, coral banded shrimp

Recently added a bunch of frags courtesy of Reef central Local AWESOME PEOPLE and want to make sure i do them proud!! (GSP, Kenya, PomPom, Duncan, and a few others i cant remember the names of)

Then:

calcium: 520
dKH: 12
pH: 8.2
Nirtrate: 5.0
Nitrite: 0
Salinity: 1.024
Temp: 81
Ammonia: 0.50
Phosphate: 0.25

Now:
calcium: 500
dKH: 10
pH: 7.8
Nirtrate: 0
Nitrite: 0
Salinity: 1.026
Temp: 79
Ammonia: 0
Phosphate: 0.25

I have been dosing 7ml of Kent Nano reef 2 part daily and Kent Purple Up (7ml) every other day

I have been doing ~7-10 gallon water changes weekly with RO/DI salt water (Instant Ocean)

I think i am more in the range i SHOULD be in but the Zoa loss is frightening me....
Calcium - little high
PH maybe a tad low
Dkh a bit high but dropping.. any better way to drop that down to the 6-8 range???

any tips would be appreciated...

Chris
