BlueChip's BioCube 29

I like that a bunch. but the Previous owner of my cube cut the back part of the hood off. so the hoods a pain... i have been looking for replacement hoods but they are expensive

my thought with the ebay one is that when i upgrade to a bigger tank i can use it still, and am not pinned down to the biocube hood retrofit....

i will keep searching for a replacement used hood.. maybe i can score one soon.

obviously i dont NEED LED's, but do we really ever NEED any of this stuff, we just WANT it.... :)

You are correct! Sucks about the hood. Just do your research on the 1w LED's to make sure they'll be adequate. Especially if you plan on using them on other tanks in the future.

the rapidled kits are 1:1 (blue:white) , i have read that most people prefer 2:1 blue to white...

what are your thoughts?

Pic 1 and 2 not sure

Pic 3 and 6 not sure but I have a bunch of the same. Sponge maybe?

The rest look like sponges to me. I have a huge colony of sponge now on one of my rocks. I've been told that's a good thing.

wheww... at least that settles my mind at ease... i was going to start removing them all tonight cause they were worring me!!

thanks!!

In the pics it's hard to tell but do they have a tube structure to them?

Better yet, do they look like this? At the bottom left you can clearly see a tube that isn't visible on the sponges in the upper right.

Now today's issue.... the anemone wont sit still... it sat still from day one until 2 days ago... i am worried he is going to sting the Zoas..... what should i do??

Chris

Nice move on the BRS RODI setup, I have the same one and it's been great! Your anenome is going to move whenever he feels like, not much you can do there. If you are really worried - move the corals!

Will he sting and kill the Zoa's??

I guess theirs nothing i can do..he moves where he wants to move...

Soooo glad i got the 75GPD RO/DI...haha never can be in a rush for water.... i can pee faster than that thing... haha Cant imagine if i got <75GPD...

It's not the fastest, but I have a small tank (28g) so I only do weekly water changes of 5 gallons. It kicks out about 2.5 gallons in 5-10 min once it's fully stocked. I usually do that every other day and have more than enough water for what I'm doing :)

I got about 50 gallons now madew and ready to rock!! Going to throw a heater in there and a pump.... I should be good for a month!!

Much better now that I have everything premade!

Today its 29 gallons but just got approval from the wife to do an in-wall w/ basement sump...:) .. So soon it will be in the 100 gallon range + sump

:)
