Blueface Angelfish

Very hardy. This one is about 7 years old in 90g sps reef.

Get a juvy from DD, hope it cost $99 to get free shipping, if not add a $10 item. They love hiding in rocks. My QT is full of rocks so the only time I see it is when I feed.

Minimum tank size is 220 gallons according to Fosters and Smith. You will need to rehome it in a year or so.

They do very well after you get them acclimated. Be mindful of any fish you put in afterward. Blueface are not typically super aggressive (in my experience) but they certainly hold their own. I agree that they do not grow very quickly so getting a smaller one will allow you to keep it longer. Certainly one of my all time favorite fish! Planning to get another one in a month or so and it will go into the 300.

They are absolutely gorgeous! I haven't considered angels in my reef yet, but this guy has me reconsidering. Any issues with nipping SPS?

Sorry to hijack OP, I see you don't have a reef now after I posted.

I never had an issue with adults, but juveniles gave me fits. And why I then switched to Regal angels.

Regal Angels are extremely hard to keep. I’m thinking due to the space requirements of large angels to go with a dwarf lemon peel then after I get a bigger tank go with large angels. I do love large angels though.

beautiful fish. I think a 110 considering the sump (probably 80-90 gals for the tank) is too little.
But I have a majestic angel in a 110 so I cannot comment much LOL
