I've had my used light since Feb. this year, started buying 2 crocea clams and acropora frags soon after. They are growing more on the base so I think all is well. How do I determine which bulbs have what PAR? Found some cheap on ebay and someone said the Par is horrible. So how can I know what bulbs are better than others? Came with blueline 10K i think, and bought a 10K XM off ebay.

check out sanjay's site for all the info you could ever want about bulbs / ballast numbers. the link is in the equipment forum, its a sticky too

Cnidarianreef.com is a great site for determineing PAR on your ballast, just go there look to the right of the page where you see 250Watt MH compair something or other... and click there, scroll down untill you see BLUELINE BALLAST and then look under to determine whats got the best PAR

Your choice for XM10K's are GREAT!!!!!!!!!!
They are WONDERFUL bulbs that really make those corals grow grow grow!!!

Suppliment with plenty of actinics and youll have Crazy Color... and Growth!

Make sure that the bulbs you are buying are INDEED NEW, and not old used ones, because that would just be a waste of your money to be buying used bulbs....

good luck!
