I have a 4" Personifer in QT and am trying to determine a stocking list for my 150 (60x24x24) that i'll be setting up this week. I want one more large angel like the ones I named and cant choose so I thought I'd ask you guys which would you add and why. FWIW I plan on making this an all angel tank with 2 large angels and several dwarf angels.

Looking forward to hearing your ideas.

I dont think a 5 foot 150 is big enough for a pomacanthus long term, the blueline is a better choice and isnt going to get nearly as big and should get along with the personifer. did you get one of those true personifers or is it a meridithi?

The chrysurus is one of the smallest pomacantus angels
I will be more woried about the true personifier thy get bigger

Agree with the above and BL is less aggressive. Just to give you an idea--my Meredithi grew from 3" to 6"+ in 2 plus years so plan accordingly with the Personifer. The BLs I see available now is in the 4-5" range so you may want to wait a bit till the juv come in again.

The juv BL coloration is so much better plus the fun watching them grow and change to adult color. And seeing the Personifer getting the band...WOW!

As for dwarfs consider Flame :) , Lemon and Potters.

Go for the Chrysurus! Everybody has a Blueline.

This statement is hilarious!! Remember when bluelines where impossible to get.

I would wait for a juvi blueline. Like what was stated above bluelines stay smaller & are less aggressive. I have a 5" one in my angel collection & it is very docile.

I just wanted to say my Chrysurus is the most mellow chilled out fish I have. It's about 6" it seriously is not one bit aggressive. I am surprised more people do not keep this fish, it's seriously underrated.

Having said that, the Blueline is in no way a bad choice either.

Your average Pomacanthus is going to be a lot more aggressive than your average Apolemichthys or Chaetodontoplus, sure there will be exceptions, and a Chrysurus still gets too big for a 150. The only problem angels I have ever kept in terms of aggression were Pomacanthus or Holacanthus, especially in smaller tanks. I dont think anybody on this board has enough long term experience with the true personifer but I would imagine they behave more like a blueline or a meredithi than a pomacanthus. Is a 150 too small for a true personifer? In terms of the fish's maximum adult size, probably. I have no idea in terms of the typical behavior of this species.

I agree with Flameangel, the blueline is awesome and pretty mellow. Here is a pic of my Bluelines in the Juvi stage

I had a 1 1/2 in Chrysurus in my mixed reef for over 3 years until it grew too big about 7 in for the tank outstanding fish never touched anything and love to watch it change.
