I have a Bluethroat trigger in my 150 FOWLR for around 10 months. The fish was QTed for around 6 weeks and treated with Quinine Sulfate and Prazipro.
Back in December, the fish all of a sudden seemed like he could not see very well. Snapping at food and missing and hiding more.
That sight issue has not gotten better, but he has not been hiding as much.
Last night, I noticed the right eye was cloudy, but not cloud as in a white film, but more like a ton of air bubbles under the eye. The eye did not pop out. I have been out of town all week, so this happened anywhere from Tuesday to Friday.
There really have been no signs of disease (besides this) with the trigger or with any other fish in the tank.
So last night I moved him to my 55 QT and treated with Mardel Maracyn Plus.
I do not think it is flukes. I did treat him in QT originally and I did treat my display with him in it (two back to back treatments) around 4 months after putting him in the display since I had a hippo tang with frayed fins but the prazi did not help that and I think it was due to HLLE. I did move the tang out of the display to a QT and the fins got better.
Could this be bacteria? Could an injury have caused this? Maybe nutrition? Since he is eyesight has been bad, I do not think he is eating much for the last 2 months.
I figured I would try the Maracyn first and if that does not help then maybe prazi pro again.
