As the title says, please post some pics of your tanks running with BLV 14K's.

Also please included what you are running for supplemental lighting and how good the the growth and color is with this bulb. Also include the reflectors you are using for the MH and the ballast type.

I am wanting to switch out my XM 10K's and wanted to see what the BLV's look like. They will be housed in Lumenarc III's on m58 ballasts.

id be interested too.. almost time to switch out my hammy 14k, and i know its not gonna be another hammy. just too dim compared to others.

so my next choices are the BLV 14k or maybe the reeflux 14k, maybe the 12k with supps.

I looked around and have not been able to find a retailer in the US that carries them. Hopefully they will get here soon.

It is, but I've yet to see the Ushio/BLV 250w SE 14k retailed in the states. Premium lists the 400w and reefgeek I know has the DE.

Dunno.. I hope Sanjay tries em out before I get my tank :)

the 400W SE 10K has 165 PAR and the 400W SE 20K has 112 so im guessing the 14K would have something around 130-140...

I don't think the 250W DE 14K would have much more than 70 as the 10K only has 85.

*all numbers based on HQI ballasts

Don't be shocked when tests reveal that the Ushio 14K is as bright as if not slightly brighter than the 10K Ushio.

I seriously cant wait to get my hands on these bulbs. I am seriously considering switching to 400W ballasts just so I can run these bulbs.
Just cant find the 250W's yet.

I wonder if I should get the :

PFO 400W M59
or
PFO 400W HQI

Im getting IceCaps...

the M59 is weak I defenitely wouldn't get that...the HQI burn bulbs whiter with more PAR but you will need to change bulbs every 6 months and they consume around 500W of electricity...
