Does anyone have any information on this species? Is it ever available in the US trade? I would love to get my hands on one.

You should be able to get it easily.
Check out for importers getting shipments from Vanuatu.
Vanuatu main export market is USA, so I can not see any problem.

I'm not sure if there's any difference between leucostictus and paraleucostictus, but both of them are deepwater and v rare.

I remember seeing a leucostictus in Copps tank pics, in his FOWLR tank.
Also remember LADD has one for sale last year.

It seem that blueharbor is in japan. Don't know if they could export fish now.I mean the radiation.

I recall that in 2010 sep or oct this fish was for sale in DD , for about 699...

There is one for sale here in Phoenix,Az at a lfs called AquaTouch .... have had him in QT for 8wks and now in sale tanks
