Bonaire! Diving and snorkeling photos!

What was your fav dive site? We liked Karpata and small wall the best. The Hooker was cool but we could not do salt pier that trip.

We rented a cottage ... And a car. I much prefer doing this than staying at a resort. Own kitchen, etc.

I'd second the stay at Buddy dive. Especially if you want to do a LOT of shore diving. The drive through is the best idea on the island. The resort restaurant is not that great. Eat at Mi Banana, Casablanca, and the one near the bay on the east side. Don't remember the name. Also the pizza place on the north side of town is exellent, but only open three days a week. Most places are really good and inexpensive as well. Their is a little sandwich/ice cream place next to the bank. Decent, cheap food at that place... Definatelly want a kitchen wherever you stay. Saves lots of money if you can make your own food every day..

Buddy dive and all overs you pay per person.

Rent a cottage or a house, and whoever is with you stays there. Our cost was half. There are great dive shops all over the island with great deals on air, etc. We paid half what another couple at one of the dive resorts paid, and had better digs....

Renting is a bit of a risk IMO. You don't know what you're walking into the first time. Most resorts offer free breakfast if they're not stingy. Plus you have access to the house reef, and everything else available that the dive-shop offers. Having a secure location to dry your gear at the end of the day is a great luxury. Having a cottage that you trust is a viable option if you can trust the location[location, location, location]. Renting is kind of like a DIY vacation. Many people prefer a more structured schedule. To each, his own I guess.....What are your recommendations for renting on Bonair? Clue us in on amenities and security for the spots you like. What's your fav dive spot Ostrow?
