Bonded pair of clownfish in sump?

I would like to have a bonded pair of clownfish in a section in my sump to hopefully get them to mate. Has anyone had any success doing this? There is a lot of flow down there so will that be a negative?

Clowns can handle flow just fine a lot of times. I'd just give them a break spot they can escape to like a flower pot(surrogate anemone).

Agree they can handle flow, but I'm curious why you think this betters the chance of getting an already bonded pair to mate?

Well if the have eggs in my main tank, the eggs will be consumed by my live stock won't they?

Yes, and this makes a wonderful food for your fish.
As for collecting eggs from them for breeding, there is so much more involved, and pretty much 0 chance anything will come from having your clowns in the sump or display.
Joyce Wilkerson has a very informative book on clowns and breeding, you may want to give that a read.
