Bonsai - BA's 34G Rimless Solana

I had some that were bleached from shading; when they received proper lighting, they went bananas and grew like crazy. Here's hoping the same will happen for you!

The build is great; I'm also enjoying the attention to detail. Great job!

Finally, don't feel bad about the Apex thing; in my opinion, they should have used a more unique connector to prevent this from happening. I'm sure it saved them a lot of money to use something so common.

Your right about the apex, but in reality I should of read the manual before I started, that's on me. They could of made a special connector and made money off of that one. I'm starting to see a bluish color on one polyp that was bleached. I hope they come back also!

It wasn't ruined luckily, I have to program each outlet and name them, color code them again since last time the tape didn't hold. What's going on tonight?

You never stop working, I have a slight chemical imbalance in the tank and the radion is running at 35% brightness. Will do a water change and test again.

BA your tank is looking sweet, I just ordered a radion this week and i am stoked for it.
i was curious where did you find those clear containers to hold your dosing solution's??

Yesterday morning I came home to a 83.7F tank, took a bag of ice and lowered the temp about 2 degrees, I thought to myself that I'll take advantage of the time I have while everyone was asleep to update the apex again since it says it needs to be updated. Well the mother ####3r took about an hour trying to update, it was updating slowly through wired connection, and it was about 8am and now. Reluctantly I tell myself, I have to get some rest. I cancel the update and disconnect the ethernet cable and the brain and head unit won't come on. All I see is a black display head unit and a brain that won't connect to the eb8s. I've tried everything from unplugging the cords, trying to restore the factory defaults to changing the USB cables and to praying to a higher power.

FML. It's going to be Monday or Tuesday before I can get Neptune to help me out. I've also searched a bit for anyone that has possibly had the same problem I'm having but to no avail.

What is your heater programming? The simplest way to prevent this is to have your heater fallback on, but only set your heater to the highest temperature you want the tank to be (i.e. set your heater to 77F, so even if the Apex turns it on, the internal thermostat on the heater will turn off).

What is your specific issue with the Apex? Neptune does respond over the weekends usually, and their forums are really good.

this is a very interesting thread.. the first pictures you posted are great! something about GSP covering the glass bottom is spectacular..

Sorry to hear about your Apex, I would call there CS and have them try to figure it out. They typically can log in to your comp remotely and solve any issues or see whats going on while the unit is hooked up to your comp.:headwally:

Has anyone ever used dosers to dose food as in marine snow/phytoplankton/oysterfeast/etc or any other additive other than the big 3?

Yes. It generally doesn't work so well because most of those have to be refrigerated and/or shaken. I know people do it with acropower and sometimes reef energy (but only a week or so storage at a time).
