Bootstrapped refugium

Showing some quarantine creativity here.. with a bootstrapped refugium. I've had chateau in my
Tank for months and it slowly fell apart, presumably from a lack of flow. I had an old Petco holding bin lying around and I decided to get creative. I drilled some
Holes in it, put a powerhead in it and a refugium light that's waiting to be used. Any input is appreciated

I'm wondering how much algae the light is going to grow everywhere else.. should I just turn it off and let the tank light do the work / see if it's enough for chateau?

What kind of light? If it's good enough to grow corals, it'll be fine for the cheato (unless the light spread doesn't reach the refugium - then use the light).

Thank you! I have Reef breeders photon v2+. Definitely strong enough to grow corals. Thanks for the advice - I'll take the fuge light down.

Your by-ear spelling had me going for a moment. It's cheato. Cheatomorpha, actually. And yes, I think you're on the right track. It likes flow---and it likes light. I used a 6500K (daylight) lightbulb (the twisty-tube kind) in an $8 shoplight frame, and it worked really well.

Whoops. I don't know why I thought there was a u in there. Thanks!
