Booyah's Onyx

I thought I'd post up some pictures of my new clowns I just picked up this past week. They are onyx clowns from Seaquest Marine bloodlines that I purchased from Booyah's Reef in Algonquin, Il. When I was there they had a few really good looking pairs! They don't sell the clowns until they are about 9 months old or so - so you know that you are getting onyx clowns instaed of true percs. Enough talking, pics.....

Thanks! I got a pretty good pair. The 5th and 6th pictures are of the same guy. The right side barring is almost like a square, and the left is almost broken. His dorsal fin is just starting to turn black too. The female doesn't have unusual bars, but she's going to be a really nice onyx.

Cool clowns! I havn't heard of Booyah's before. Algonquin isn't too far from where I live. Would you recommend them?

Thanks for all the compliments. I took probably 100 pictures in order to get just these few that turned out! The problem with taking pictures of clownfish is that they NEVER STOP MOVING!!! :) Anyway, Booyah's Reef was great to work with. They helped me pick these out. Great customer service and great people. I'd definitely recommend them if you're in the market for some clowns - especially onyx which seem harder to find these days.

Thought I'd try putting up a bigger picture to see them better....

How old are they? It seems like the ones from Booyah's Reef color up really fast. Mine aren't even a year old yet and they have a lot of black on them already.

Where is Booyah's Reef ??? Or at least do they have a web site? I'm not too far away and I've never heard of them nor can find anything on Google.

Thanks

Booyah's Reef is in Algonquin, IL. They're fairly new and are still working on their website. Hopefully it's up soon because it looked like when I was there they had a bunch of onyx clowns coloring up nicely and will need to find homes.

Don't mind a bit...I got mine for $90, but there's pair ranging anywhere from $60 - $160. I thought it was pretty reasonable for what you get.

bues002 thanks to both of you for having us over last night to see the new onyx in your tank and we are sorry about your lion fish....the kids enjoyed playing with all the kitty cats,I hope you adopt them all out.

very nice onyx especially when they color up their black. Really attempting to get a pair or myself too. :eek1:
