Bottom of tank question

I am seeking advice from those of you with large glass tanks. I'm getting ready to add my rock structure, and I'm looking for a good material to set the rock on top of. I used egg crate in a past tank, and when the tank had a dino outbreak, it was impossible to clean the egg crate. After that, I swore I'd never use it again!

The tank will be running bare bottom, so I'd like to have something that's easy on the eyes. Any suggestions?

I would go with starboard (think cutting board material). Its white, smooth and will eventually encrust with coralline so it will hide well.

I have starboard in the bottom of my tank. I actually got it in sandstone color. Over time, the color shouldn't matter much, but until stuff grows on it, it looks like I have sand in the bottom of the tank.

Where do you find starboard? I keep hearing about it, but would like to see some in person before making the purchase. I really like the idea of sandstone colored!

do a search for star-board sheets. i found a company named King Starboard and they had several colors available. tried to post a link. guess i cant. hth :)
