Bought new led light fixture from China.

Sharkman, Do you know if your unit is coming with the new controller? Foo in the other forum in Europe mentioned in an earlier post that Ledzeal was releasing a new controller in June/July. Curious to know what the differences are.

Noticed the same thing from Foo but not seen anything mentioned about it since and a few people have ordered recently

Come on Shark. Did it arrive??????

Yes it arrived! Don't know what the old/new controllers look like so don't know if it's old or new. Been doing all the plumbing today, probs electrics tomorrow, but have it kver the tanks just too see what it's like, so far very impressed, the only down side is when the fan on the psu kicks in its quite loud, wife not impressed, but I explained that once it's in the unit you will hardly hear it!! Got to find out how to post pictures on this forum, it won't allow me to choose a folder just a URL.

Now I've hot the unit, is it me or don't the instructions tell you how to programme the light? Lots of info on what pre sets there are, but maybe I need to read it again but haven't Sussex the programming yet!!!

SET button. You should see DIY SETUP and LED1 flashing. Press OK and work your way through each "SENCE" setting i.e. LED 1 SENCE 1 06:00 00%
When you have done all 8 then press MODE then the up arrow to get to LED2, LED3, LED4

Check out the lighting schedule posted somewhere on here from Fuzzy. That will help to get an idea of what you need to do with the 0% place holders

Thanks mate, so SENCE equals time and then you put in the % for that channel! will have a look later and maybe start a new thread with photos on the other forum!

Ok so with a few days to think about the future

Actual Layout

Hi Guys well according to DHL, mine are in Australia and cleared customs this morning, so the next big question, starting settings advice.

My current setup is a 32 x 3w cree fixture operated off timer with no dimmer, Blues come on at 11am and off at 10pm and whites come on at 12pm and off at 8pm so in essence 8 hours of 96w of light and 3 hours of 48w of blue light.

The new fixtures (x2) will have 40 x 3w each so 240w in total, interestingly enough I will still have a total of only 16 whites.

if you use pure numbers then my max setting at the start on pure watts would be 40%, but then that would mean at max during the day 40% of white would only be less than half than what they were getting before, but this of course doesn't take into account the other lights such as RB etc.

any advice greatly appreciated.

Im tagging along on this thread, I am in the process of building and choosing a light fixture, and up until now I was going to go with a StevesLED or Rapid LED DIY customized fixture, but seeing these, this has peaked my interest...

I will have a 40breeder, mainly SPS and LPS corals.
There is be only about 10" of water depth to work with , and I also plan on adding two T5's one front and one back as supplement with KZ Fiji Purple or alternative.

I have a couple questions though, what sized fixture number one, and HOW do I customize, and order this fixture... I see no link on their website, and when I click Order Online it directs me to a blank page... Has something changed?

Think it's the old style controller, looks the same as the one on gilguys first thread

I just heard back from kevin and a new controller is still in its final testing but will be released soon and is compatable with the s series lights :) on another note if you have a s400 can you post if your power units fan runs constantly even when light is off ive been in contact with kevin which he says is normal for the s400 not to turn off due to the high power but it makes no sense for it to be blowing all night even with the light off . I have read threw the thread and saw a couple other people with a s400 whos power supply only kicks on when the light hits a certain percentage any feed back is appreciated so i can see if it is just mine thanks fellas. Rafael

Ok Mine are here and set up, I have done a quick safe DIY mode setup that will not blind my corals, I love these lights already, only issue so far I see is that when you unplug the controller it goes into full mode, bugger!

as they turned up at the start of my work day, and I work form home I have blown an hour and a half unpacking and setting up, so I need to get back to work, but I did take photos on the way through and they are uploading to photobox so I will upload pics later.

Ok so a few pics (taken with the iPhone) and also the schedule (xls attachment at the bottom), I bought the slide in brackets to give me time to sort the hanging kit so they will go higher and I will adjust the settings according.

Here is the light layout

Here is it as per my settings in the spreadsheet at about 2.30pm, still have some tinkering but I am supposed to be working so will play more later, happy to hear recommendations

Created a spreadsheet that if you are interested in total output at a certain time it will give you an idea.

Very nice spread sheet i have one similar for my photon i dont have too much computer skills i use my phone most the time can anyone modify a spread sheet like this one to where you can input a starting percentage per channel and it will fill in the time slots for a ramp up ramp down time frame based on hours you want your light on heres the one i have for my photon as referance hmmmmmm
