Bow front poses problems

Has anyone had success taking shots through a bowfront ?

I am finding that due to the curvature of the glass it is posing unique challenges.

I was wondering if a tilt/ shift lens would work somehow.

Technical tips are appreciated.

Thats strange, I don't have any trouble with my 72 bow. Sometimes I can't get the very ends of the tank but otherwise successful.

For what it's worth, I've never been able to get crystal clear shots thru bowfronts. I got a few that were good, but not as good/sharp as through flat acryllic tank. Seems like shooting from the side, as opposed to straight on, helps a little. I've never tried a tilt-shift lens but I don't think it'd be any better.

I've had a little trouble with certain angles, but overall
no biggie with my oceanic 90g bf

Here's a couple

I agree Spanglish, depends on the angle you're trying to take the pic from. I've actually tried to angle the lens gradually to compensate for the distortion. Might get one good pic out of 10-15 so it's a calculated risk using a 35mm as opposed to a digital.

Here's a few I took of my 72 Bow. If you have some corals, or other livestock at the ends where the width is thinner, you can get pretty close.
Keep at it, it can be done.

Cheers,
Rob
