"small clams(if I am not mistaken under 4 inches,It might be 3 inches)require you to feed them so you take them out of tank and put them in a bowl with tank water and feed them for 15 min.You let to food float around in the bowl and the clam will feed. When they get larger the light will help them grow. You can go on the clam forum and ask someone will give you the exact size.Plus some species you place on rocks others go on sand.Clams eat phytoplanton."

Has anyone heard of this?? First time for me and would like to know if its true or how the rest of you guys feed your baby clams. I would like to know before I purchase smaller clams just so I dont end up killing them for lack of knowledge. Thanks guys!

when my maxima was 2" i had a 2 litre soda bottle that i cut the bottom off of,& placed over the clam then fed. That saved me from taking the clam in,& out of the tank.Becides he had set his foot in about 2 hours of being introduced into my tank.

is it also true that clams should never touch air because it will disrupt the bivalve inside of them, once again something i heard and could be wrong, also do you feed your clams once a night with dt's or something similar?
