Box Crab?

I found this guy at the lfs today. I really want him cause he looks so unique. Im pretty sure he's a box crab, Calappa capellonis. I read that they bury themselves in the sand. How much open sand surface does he need & how deep will he go? I also read they get along with other crabs... is that true?

It's a box or shame face crab, possibly Calappa hepatica. It buries themselve, yes, and hunts on snails – it's one claw is formed like a can opener and is a perfect tool for "opening" snails.

They don'T go deep, just as far that the eyes can look out.

Yeah I've had them before, they are pretty cool. But can get pretty mean.

Mean? would he bother my other crabs & shrimps. I think ill have to remove a couple rocks & add some more sand for him. Hes a fair size.
