boxing crab missing anenome....

no, I mean anemome.

boxing crabs have 2 anemones attached to their claws that they box with (hence the name boxing crab or pom pom crab) to get their food.

Heard if it has at least one, it will just split the remaining anemone into two. BTW, where did you get the crab from? Haven't seen any in LA yet and avoiding the drive to OC.

the only place in LA that I have found them and they always seem to have them is this med size LFS on Topanga canyon in the northern valley (in a shopping mall). There is a ryder truck painted white advertising their 1000g shark tank (which was pretty cool) and there is a starbucks on the corner. I don't know the name of the place, but they charge $12 for the critter.

I'm just 15 mins from them but I rarely shop there. They do fresh/marine fish as well as reptiles.

If youre into reptiles, .3 miles north of Exotic Life is Reptile Depot. I dont do reptiles but the store looks pretty neat. In the same plaza is a pretty good Indian restaurant. It recently changed owners. I liked the original place best but this place is still good.

Spline, yes that is the place. They seem to have the hook-up for boxing crabs as they are the only guys in town who has them.

Those in Santa Barbara/Ventura can go to the Ocean Floor for boxers. Ive had a couple from there and have a great survival rate. Yeah, I paid more for the crab than I would in L.A. but Ive had him for over a year now.
