Braceless open top with Acrylic

Is it possible to have a braceless open top acrylic tank over 200g? Preferably 300g. Wouldnt the bonds on the acrylic be stronger?

i would imagine as long as the sides are thick enough, you wont need a brace, how thick they need to be though, im not sure.

Sure it's possible but the vertical panels need to be about 2.5-3 times thicker than normal to keep the same defection rates so it becomes very expensive. What are the tank dimensions you are thinking about. On an average 200 - 300 gallon tank you are talking the 2" acrylic range.
Check page 3 of my gallery, shows a 48 x 24 x 12" tank with 1" vertical panels. I first tried 3/4" and it bowed too much for my taste though it held water just fine.
