Brand new 9010 - very loud (with pics)

I got the 9010 skimmer from marinedepot this week. I installed it yesterday, the pump was cluttered for few minutes, then totally stopped. After replugging the power several times, it was still not working. I opened the pump and found the impeller is sort of damaged. It also caused some scrathed inside the pump. Please see the pictures below.

I put the impeller back, the skimmer is working fine currently. However, it is so loud, I can hear the noise at next room. I wonder if the impeller causes the noise. Is there any way to fix it?

Oh boy, was thinking about hetting one of these. What size is your tank BTW? You say it's working, but noisy? Is it working well? I will follow this one and see how it pans out. I have read that their support is quite good.

It isn't the same problem as I see no bulge or blister. I don't think the small scratches will have any effect. I can send a new drive unit or I can exchange the complete pump when more arrive, please send me a PM with what you would prefer and the address.

IPT: I was going to buy 9005 for my 38g in tank use. After searching some threads, I decided to get a 9010, since 9010 has in sump kit included.
